We've always been there. We've just been good at hiding.
But now our numbers are increasing. More people are being born like us. And that makes us a threat.
But now our numbers are increasing. More people are being born like us. And that makes us a threat.
The year 2038, the year it all changed.
For decades there had been whispers and murmurs in the streets, behind closed doors and in private, of beings that possessed powers and knowledge far greater than that of humans. Beings who could speak directly into your mind. Or could create fire in their hand.
They had been mere rumors until the year it changed in 2038. When they finally showed themselves. A group of them, wanting to take a city for themselves. Sick of being forced to hide and suppress who they were.
Their attempt at independence, to be heard, failed. Their revolution quickly thwarted and others like them were order to reveal themselves. Under threat of inprisonment and torture, many families turned their own relations in to the authorities.
They were labelled "non-humans" and taken away so they were no longer a danger to themselves or humans.
Their treatment was abhorrent and someone had to step in.
That person was Kore Julianos. An intelligent, cunning and persuasive ambassador for "non-humans" everywhere. She argued their case in front of many who would listen, and even more who did not want to. Her argument was simple, that the "non-humans" were possibly the next form of evolution for the human race. That instead of treating them as a threat, it would be wiser to create a haven for them, to live and continue their lives as normally. A place where they could learn not just about their powers, but how to control them and how to put them to good use.
In 2050, her argument was won, and resulted in the creation of the Island Orendir, an man made cluster of landmasses and islands.
Non-humans flocked there. To remove themselves from the fears and prejudice of the world around them, and to begin anew. Without warning, the non-humans, who had come into their powers quite suddenly, found their own haven, a haven for other creatures that, until then, had been mere myth and legend, or had seemed never to have existed at all.
Now. In the year 2056, Orendir is thriving and growing more and more each day...

But there is unrest among those left behind. Those who believe that the "non-humans" should never have been protected.
